The Hedgehog Sonic 2 movie, starring the world-famous star actor Jim Carrey, attracted great attention all over the world. Also known as Jim Carrey’s retirement movie, the production achieved a record viewing rate at the box office.
In Turkey, “Bergen”, which has been at the top of the box office since its release and broke the viewership record, was dethroned with the movie “Hedgehog Sonic 2 “, which was released this week. The production, which rose to number one by opening with 118,564 people, was half way ahead of Bergen, which filled its sixth week with 51,780 people.

Two ambitious productions, “Bergen” and “Batman”, were released in Turkey last week. Tickets were sold out as the highly anticipated films were screened in movie theaters.
Batman, the second movie with the biggest opening worldwide since the beginning of the pandemic, could not pass Bergen in Turkey. Bergen, which was released on March 4, earned 22 million 678 thousand 859 liras after a 3-day screening and was watched by 718 thousand 43 people in 1100 theaters. The Batman, on the other hand, was watched by 328 thousand 680 people in 828 movie theaters and earned 11 million 437 thousand liras.
