Starting a new podcast series called ‘Smoking Le Podcast’, Saint Lauren met with French actress Catherine Deneuve in its first episode. Chatting with Deneuve for half an hour, French writer Pascale Clark asked about his iconic roles and hobbies.
Catherine Deneuve, one of Yves Saint Laurent’s close friends, explained that she took part in the final fashion show with model Laetitia Casta. At the same time, Deneuve explained that he met Saint Laurent’s Creative Director Anthony Vaccarello at a festival in Morocco that honored Yves Saint Laurent, and stated that he was impressed by Vaccarello’s shyness and art.
When asked whether the roles he played were his own reflections, Deneuve said that these characters draw a “zigzag” and that he does not like to talk about his private life. Deneuve, who said that being in the public eye has advantages and disadvantages, said, “I don’t know how to act without feeling that the image created about me is fake.”
Described as “the most beautiful woman in the world,” Deneuve explained that it puts pressure and expectations on her. Deneuve said, “I ca n’t be comfortable even outside of shooting, I always feel like I have to take care of myself,” adding that this definition always occupied his mind and actions.
Saint Laurent’s future episodes of ‘Smokine Le Podcast’ will be listening to names like Charlotte Gainsbourg, Laetitia Casta, Gaspar Noe and Felix Maritaud.
