Former US National Women’s Soccer Team goalkeeper Hope Solo, who was found half unconscious in her car in the parking lot of a shopping center in the state of North Carolina, was detained.
Hope Solo, who was allegedly alcoholic, had a 2-year-old twins in her vehicle. Suspicious of the vehicle with the engine running, the surrounding citizens called the police. Police teams who came to the scene found Solo in the vehicle with her twins. Solo, 40, reacted to the police’s alcohol test.
Sol, who was unstable and half unconscious, was taken into custody. The authorities, who handed over the children to a family member, launched an investigation against Solo about drunk driving, resistance to the police and child abuse.
Solo, who was on the agenda with his statements after they lost to Sweden in the quarter-finals at the 2016 Rio Olympics, was later removed from the national team. The lawsuits filed against him will be heard on 28 June.
