OGM carries out studies to prevent more than 2,000 forest fires, 90 percent of which are human-induced, each year in Turkey, such as barbecue fire, cigarette butt, and stubble fire, and to raise awareness on this issue. Receiving the support of famous figures in order to reach wider masses in the society, OGM continues its efforts for the protection of forest assets for 182 years.

The well-loved master actor to the awareness of OGM, which started with a movie by the famous meteorologist Bünyamin Sürmeli in which he draws attention to the risk of fire that rises even more with increasing temperatures. Hussein Avni Danyal and Kenan İmirzalıoğlu, musician Mustafa Ceceli and internet phenomenon Turkish conductor CZN Burak also came to support.
Forest General Manager Bekir Karacabey, who pointed out that taking the support of craftsmen and sportsmen, who are fondly followed by a large part of the society, is very valuable in raising awareness about the protection of nature, and said , “Every year, we make the biggest effort to protect our forests on ‘forest fires’. . When we look at the fire statistics of the last 10 years, we are losing our national wealth with forest fires caused by human neglect at a very large rate of 90 percent. We are on fire.
