LIZZO IS LAUNCHING A BRAND REDEFINED WOMEN’S BODY

We’re not even halfway through 2022, but there’s a long list of famous brands popping up. From Scarlett Johansson’s The Outset and Winnie Harlow’s Cay Skin, it seems that the natural evolution in a successful A-listers career has been to remove their own labels.

Now, the queen of self-love and confidence, Lizzo joins these ranks with the launch of lifestyle brand YITTY. YITTY is a cross-border shapewear line that will change the world of intimates and athletics forever. Backed by activewear brand Fabletics, YITTY is the next step in Lizzo’s journey of self-acceptance and destigmatization of, in Lizzo’s words, “big grrls.”

Lizzo captioned the social media post announcing the brand, “This is a five-year dream to make.” According to the Grammy-winning artist, the new line is “you can wear shapers, underwear, tops, anywhere, for any body,” and we love seeing it.

Honestly speaking up about body positivity so loud and lack of inclusivity in the current shaper industry It’s refreshing to see a celebrity taking on and ac canvas making changes.

“This is a love letter to my elder brothers and a welcome letter to every body. This is not an invitation to change who you are […] this is an opportunity to be who you are on your own terms,” he said. “I’m sick of people telling me about my body how I should look and feel,” Lizzo wrote in a post. she did star

Named after Lizzo’s childhood nickname, YITTY will launch on April 12 with over 100 pieces in an ambitious attempt at the first collection. in the first collection, bras, cycling shorts and underwear that shape fashion as well as functional will take place in three different series; Nearly Naked, Mesh Me and Major Label.

Most importantly, Lizzo alone is changing our stance on sizing. While this has always been one of fashion’s biggest failings, Lizzo has made it her mission to reinvent modeling that’s unique and oftentimes.

“Instead of thinking about dimension in this linear way, we think in a spectrum that includes everyone. Everyone’s size is just their own size. Not high, not low. Not big, not small. It’s just your body,” Lizzo says in a press release.

This shift is part of the wider social shift around the language used to describe women’s bodies when it comes to dressing – clothes should fit us, we don’t have to fit clothes. Instead of opting for a traditional XS-XXXL, sizes will start with 6X and end with XS.

While we have some time to wait before the collection drops, we know this range will make us feel very welcome.
