As part of the “Combating Harmful Content” program implemented by the Ministry of Family and Social Services, efforts are underway to protect children from negative content in areas such as games, digital applications, books and social media.
The Ministry of Family and Social Services continues to work within the scope of the “Combating Harmful Content” program, which was implemented by the Ministry of Family and Social Services to protect children from harmful content.
The activities of the Board for the Protection of Minors from Harmful Publications were expanded with the program, which was implemented in 2020 to support child-friendly practices and protect children from content that may adversely affect their development in areas such as games, digital applications, books and social media.
The whistleblower line, which has been in use for about 2 years, has received 941 complaints so far. As a result of the evaluation, it was determined that 61 of the complaints were related to the subject and the necessary investigations were made. As a result of the complaints submitted to the Board for the Protection of Minors from Harmful Publications, it was decided that 4 books were “bad”.
It was decided that the books in question should not be sold under the age of 18 and disclosed in places open to children. Other complaints were directed to the Provincial Directorates of Family and Social Services.
