Muhtar Dilek Demir, who manages one of the most neighborhoods crowded of Diyarbakir’s largest district, was married when she was just 14 years old and had her first child at the age of 15. Having 3 children, Demir divorced his wife at the end of 18 years and took action for his own life. Demir, who devoted his life to saving children, saved 40 girls from being child brides.
Demir’s new dream, who studied secondary school and then high school from outside after his divorce, received great appreciation. The young woman, who has been the headman of the Muradiye District of Diyarbakır’s central Bağlar district for 9 years, aims to study at a university. Demir, who was below the threshold with one point in YKS last year, will take the university exam again this year.

Extending a helping hand to 80 children, 40 of whom were married at a young age, He talked about his goals as follows:
“I finished secondary school and high school to complete my unfinished education right after I broke up with my husband and started to stand on my feet . Now I am preparing for university. Since my duty continues, I cannot go to the university like normal students. Therefore, my goal is clear. “I chose it as teaching. I want to study social services from a distance. I think that young people in difficult situations need a mother who will protect and watch over them. Before getting married, I would go to the front of the school and wait for the door to open before anyone came. I was burning with a love of reading. At that time, I wanted to be a policeman if I could complete my education.”
