Kadir Taşkın, who opened a bakery in the USA, where he went as a tourist in 1989, made the people of New Jersey love Ramadan pita. Stating that there are long pita pita queues during Ramadan, Taşkın said that non-Muslims as well as Muslims are in the queue.

Kadir Taşkın, an entrepreneur in the USA, where he went as a tourist in 1989, introduces Turkish delicacies to the whole of America with the bakery he opened in New Jersey. Taşkın, who made the Ramadan pide popular with the Americans under the name ‘Turkish pide’, told Yeni Şafak about this adventure.

WE RECEIVED POSITIVE REVIEWS

Stating that the most demanded product in the bakery is pita bread, Taşkın said:

“We made observations before opening the oven. As a result of our observation, we saw that the region (Paterson) was insufficient in terms of bread and bakery products. We said, ‘Why don’t we make Turkish products here, too,’ and we entered the bagel business with a small mobile counter. My wife and I were kneading the dough and making it into bagels and rolls. Then we tried the Ramazan pide. We got a lot of positive feedback from the environment. We had blessings that we have come this far.”

IS BEING A QUEUE

Stating that there are heavy pita queues at the bakery since Ramadan is coming, Taşkın said that in this month, non-Muslims as well as Muslims enter pita bread lines. Taşkın said, “The majority of Muslims in the region where our oven is located. So we will see long queues at our bakery this month. We produce more than 350 thousand pieces of pita in Ramadan,” he said.
