The master actor of Turkish cinema, İzzet Günay, was caught on camera in Nişantaşı. The master actor, who went shopping with his wife, surprised those who saw him with his time-defying form.
One of Yeşilçam’s juniors, 87-year-old İzzet Günay, who started his career in 1959, took part in numerous films and managed to engrave his name in all minds from 7 to 70. Günay, who carries out joint projects with successful names of Yeşilçam, has worked with names such as Hülya Koçyiğit, Türkan Şoray, Cüneyt Arkın, Fatma Girik.
The famous actor, who was caught on camera while shopping with his wife in Nişantaşı, was asked by reporters, “Will you continue acting ?” he answered the question. The successful actor stated that he retired from the screens because he no longer had a role for him.
“I LIKE THE NEW GENERATION”
While stating that he doesn’t have the energy to act anymore, the master actor said, “Roles are coming, but There is something around to tickle us, I don’t have the heart, I don’t have that much energy. I’m pulling rope to go to the summer house . I’ve got a little desire, I don’t have the will, we pulled ourselves to the sled. Of course we retired, we hope the young people will do good things. I like the new generation I especially like theater-based movie actors,” he said.

The master actor, who turned 87, celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Republic. He explained that he wanted to see his birthday and that was his only wish. Explaining the secret of his vigor that amazes those who see him, he said, “You will take care of yourself, you will take care of your food and sleep. I make great use of the summer house. I spend four months in Istanbul and the rest in the summer in the fresh air. It is also very important to quit smoking. I congratulate him, it has been fifty years since I quit smoking.” he said.
“I DO NOT HAVE MY HEART”
When asked about his acting offers and what he is doing now, Günay said, “The offer is coming, but we don’t mind. There’s nothing to tickle, I don’t have a heart either,” said İzzet Günay, adding, “I’m dealing with my hobbies these days. I make glass and paper weights. I make jokers of playing cards, I’ve already started this in Turkey.”
