The jersey worn by Diego Maradona, who was remembered with his goal in the 1986 World Cup, was put up for auction.
British player Maradona’s jersey was put up for sale by Steve Hodge. “It has a deep cultural meaning to the world of football, the people of Argentina and the people of England, and I’m sure its new owner will be very proud to own the world’s most iconic football jersey,” said Hodge.
Hodge stated that there has been pressure to sell the jersey for years. As a result of these prints, it will be auctioned online at Sotheby’s.
The price is considered to be 4 million pounds, that is close to 80 million pounds.
